At least it features a soothing clanging sound to let you know, I would have been pissed to run over it in front of the house. Very reliable for a car that Moses drove out of Egypt, I can go months without opening the hood.

That’s probably the best possible outcome for whatever clanking racket that probably made.

Less likely to release.

Not worried about the six, When I’m gone, and this car is recycled into a chain link fence, Scotty will be swapping this motor into the starship enterprise for it’s sub-warpspeed reliability.

Release the horses !

Chebby I6s, from the stovebolt 235 through the 230 and 250, are damn reliable engines. They just don’t get as much love as the SBC because power.
Although you can make some fun with a few tweaks to a 250 in a light car like a Nova...

“ Yo, I heard you like deux chevaux, so I gave your deux chevaux more deux chevaux!”
- Xzibit, probably

I would guess early 60's as it has a single circuit master cyl, but the distributor looks like something out of the 80's...... What year and model is this?

That’s a deux chevalle, mine’s une Chevelle.

and it will come close to triple digit speeds, close.

It’s a 66 Chevelle, with an hei from the 70s or 80s.
had it almost 20 years. photo taken the night it hit 50k miles.

I once drove a ‘70 Nova coupe that had a 250, 4 barrel, camshaft, shift kit on a TH350 and a few other mods. It wasn’t a race car, but did surprisingly well.
Certainly quicker than a 307...

Probably similar to when I tried reviving a John deer lawn mower... lol.

Stud backed out of the carb? I’ve never had it happen driving but when taking the air cleaner off they always seem to want to come out instead of the nut for me.

Probably go with blue for a carb stud
unless you want to hate yourself later on

Yeah, installed by me many moons ago. Runs very smooth but has a side to side shake when it starts.

I was flummoxed this past spring when I found out the carb I put in the Chevelle uses the larger 5/1
6 thread, compared to my mountain of 1/4" studs. Fortunately I was able to get an adapter, which is now held in place with loctite.

Initially I was going to suggest purple L octite 222 but the blue 242 or 243 is probably best for this application.
